# Red Hands

Still trying to determine if I actually have EM and thought of this question. The palms of my hands, fingers and knuckles are always red...they don't become red in a flare...they are constantly red and during a hot flare the redness intensifies. Is this common in EM...or does the redness just come with a flare?

Hi Cindy Lou - I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. I too am trying to figure this out and was recently diagnosed. I wonder, however, if my symptoms are really true EM. Like you, I am constantly red (but on my face and chest) and during a "flare" it will get much redder and much hotter. Also have random burning sensations throughout my body...again, not typical EM stuff. Please keep me posted on your progress.
