How is everyone coping with the summer heat?

I don't have flares, I have EM symptoms around the clock mostly on my palms and the soles of my feet. It's just that they get worse in the evenings and during the night or when exposed to warmer temperatures, direct sunlight, warm water, closed shoes or standing/walking too long. Alcohol or exercise also increases the burning redness.I hope you don't immerse your feet in cold water too much or for too long. That could cause serious problems .

Domina, why do you think it's wrong to have my feet in my bowl of water for too long? I would agree if they were in contact with the water, but they are inside freezer bags so not actually getting wet. Plus my water isn't really cold it's around 17 or 18 degrees centigrade. You might well say that there is no difference between that and if the air temperature was that, but there is a huge difference due to the physical properties of water. Water is much more efficient at drawing heat out of my feet than air is and that's why it works. It also feels quite cold when I put my feet in due to body temperature being around 37 degrees centigrade. The speed that the water temperature goes up is incredible and so what I have started doing now is to have an ice bucket by the bowl full of ice cubes and I keep dropping a few in at a time to keep the temperature correct. I used to use a bottle of water out of the fridge, but as things have gone a lot worse I would be forever having to empty the bowl and start again.

I missed the fact that your feet are inside freezer bags.
