Hi again, so sorry for the delay all of my technology was all broken these past weeks (ughhh #FirstWorldProblems am I right?)!!

Here's the website for the same scooter I have now! http://travelscootnz.co.nz/ I got insurance to cover it mostly, luckily! (I have Aetna)

I live in WA state and there was a man who sold them just about an hour outside of Seattle, so that's where I got mine. When/if you get one, I'd keep any extra screws they give you because after a lot of use the back rest of the seat came off of mine so I had to go to home depot to get the right screws. I'd ask whoever the seller is to show you how to fold it up a couple time just so you have it down.

Hope this helped!! If you have any other questions about it just ask :)

I am still having great relief from night time flares by chilling the front of my calves when I go to bed. The bottle chillers I was using didn't survive the daily chilling and warming so I sent for hot/cold packs which came with a cover and velcro straps. The cover is fleecy on the one side and mesh on the other and it is the mesh side I put next to my leg with a piece of thin material in between. The wide velcro strap I decided would be too warming so I attach the cold pack with old bits of tights thrown out by my daughters (I'm a hoarder so still have them!). As I get into bed my legs are feeling deliciously chilled even if my feet are still warmish. In the many weeks I have gone through this nighttime rigmarole I have only twice had a foot flare which necessitated leaving my bed. Before I began it I was up every night within an hour of going to bed. I have written before about how I sleep under a duvet covered cage because I can't bear night clothes or bedclothes but that's another story.

i have several fans around the house and always have one going.

i also keep the house as cool as our electric bill can handle, which living in California, isn't very cool sadly.

when i'm at my home business desk i have a large fan hitting my body and feet and a smaller one that is aimed at my hands.

I used to use frozen ice packs attached at various parts of my body through out the day but have read too many places that this causes big issues later on so i stopped that. (insert big sad face here!)

i've noticed that direct sunlight causes real bad flare ups for me so i avoid it. (and am now vit D deficient)

REALLY spicy food does also trigger it (bummer) as does temperature hot foods/drinks.

I'm not a big alcohol drinker but i've noticed in recent years that this also causes flare ups.

Anything that gets me sweating will 100% of the time flare me up too, which really sucks because i love riding my bike.

I noticed some folks flare up with extreme cold, i've never had that happen. I did tough mudder a few years back and i was flaring up like crazy until i hit this one obstacle. You had to jump into a pool of muddy ice water, submerge completely and go under a partially submerged wall, then work your way out. i froze my butt off while in there, but afterwards when i got moving again it had completely stopped the flare in its tracks and lasted for at least two hours. it was great.

I've been considering these for night time, has anyone tried them before?

Gel'O Cool Pillow Mat 11 x 22" - soft, odorless, no water filling!

and since if any part of my body gets too warm i can flare, this looks awesome too

Gel'O Cool Mat 24 x 59" - Large, Full-length Single or Half-length Queen Mat

Also since i do live in California and every year seems to be a "record heat" year, add that fact with the fact that i'm not a millionaire and electricity is so expensive.. i've been trying to figure out a way to keep at least one room cool and not have to cool the entire house when its just me home. Is anyone familiar with maybe portable AC units? maybe something with wheels? This is the closest thing i can find on amazon, but it seems like everything has to be vented outside, which kind of sucks for my house as both rooms that i spend the most time in only have sliding glass doors. is there such a thing as a portable AC that doesn't need outside venting?

LG Electronics LP1014WNR 115-volt Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control, 10000 BTU

I use the Gel'O Cool mats and they are very comforting. I have a small frig in my bedroom and change them out as needed because they do warm up when used. I prefer them to Chillows because the Gel'O Cool mats don't need to be filled with water. I had trouble with Chillows leaking after a few months of use but have had the Cool mats for a long time without any problems. They are also easy to transport for hotel use. I love them!

I put my feet in the sink and rinse with cold water. Then I don't totally dry them and let the cool air chill them out as I walk on the cold ceramic tiles. Feels great but it's temporary.

The portable ac units can be vented through a sliding door or window if you add an insert of plywood perhaps backed with styrofoam. You can screw the plywood into door frame for security then use a thick dowel cut to right length to jamthe slider. But the units are noisy – very noisy – and expensive to run. Based on my experience, far from satisfactory cooling plus costly to buy.

I’m now living with my elderly mom who is always cold. So I installed a window ac in my bedroom to supplement our household ac system and we had an electronic damper installed that keeps my mom’s bedroom warmer for her yet most of joint living space more bearable for me. And a fan wherever I sit for more than a few minutes.

crud.. thanks lynne for the info. i'm specifically looking for something less expensive than a whole house AC to run during these really hot summers here.. sounds like it would be cheaper to move to alaska!

Like the idea of eating ice cream. However, I have great pain getting something out of the freezer. If I drink a can of cold soda, i have to place it in a plastic cup. My hands can't tolerate the cold. usually someone must get whatever from the freezer for me. I, too, however, can swim in cool water.

I'm cooling my feet with water, BUT I always start with warm water and slowly go down until the pain is gone and I always put cream on them after, so they won't dry out and sometimes I wear socks, soaked in cold water at night... A Fan didn't work for me, so I don't know if a ventilator will, but I think I'll get one xD

HAVE YOU TRIED A BED FAN FROM Sharper Image? I have one and it works great!

I have cold wraps from Walmart for my feet. They are kept in the freezer and insert into soft fabric pockets and can wrap around my feet for max benefit, 10 min on 1hr off. Knocks flares down quick. I also use FANS directly on my feet and legs. When I'm awake I use a standard fan and asleep I use the bed fan from Sharper Image. I have no help when I go outdoors other than stay out of the sun and heat. No more cart riding during the summer in the day time, night riding only if not too hot. We live in The Villages Florida where most everything is done by golf cart. I'm still struggling with medications!!

I have just received my NatraCure socks from Amazon. Can't wait to try them! Due to having ulcers on my feet I have to have them inside freezer bags first, I have also just purchased some protectors as the freezer bags kept getting ripped due to my rough feet. Also, I always do like someone said and not start off with the water too cold and then gradually lower it with water out of my fridge. I have a photographic darkroom thermometer to check the temperature, as you can't always tell what temp it is as it depends on how hot you are as to how cold it feels.

I got two pair of these. Work great for around the house when I’m sitting

My go-to has been using ice packs (they are covered and then I wrap them with a towel) but I have noticed that I seem to get a rebound from them. That is, my feet/hands feel amazing when I’m icing them, but they often burn worse later. It is also suspected I have SFN and I’m wondering if I’m worsening nerve damage :frowning:

Lots of people say it can cause rebound, but I never found it did. Before I used ice packs I used to put my feet in plastic bags and then in a bowl water with ice cubes in so it’s not as dramatic as ice packs. Maybe if you tried that might work better for you. I had an ice bucket with the cubes in next to me as the water soon warmed up. The plastic bags were so that there wasn’t direct contact with the water. Worth a try. If you find the warmest temp that helps get yourself a thermometer that you can put the probe in and just keep the water at that temperature.

Hi there

I also was doing the water and plastic bag soak…
And it works good for fast relief… but I soon found myself attached to the bucket …and couldn’t be without it…I carried it everywhere and ice aswell…so I could go places

But the strangest thing I found out recently this month
…is because of my Heritage/background ??!

Were more prone to cellulitis infections from cold water and I’ve developed trench foot and Peroneal nerve damage on top my EM aswell…

Yikes
