Taking medications 3x daily is pretty common and a doctor wouldn’t prescribe it if it wasn’t deemed safe or if the benefits didn’t outweigh the risks. I would recommend finding a doctor that is willing to trial and error medications with you and rule out serious secondary causes. It’s nice that you are on top of it and asking everyone about their medications but everyone is different and for most slowly chipping away at different medications is probably the best way to find solace in your EM.
What do u mean by this? I have taken blood tests etc, and all was normal. I think that i have mild form of EM, because i have no pain. The only thing is the redness and warmth, and i would do anything to minimale the symptoms there when the summer comes.
That’s what I am saying. It is a matter of trying medications. It might take awhile to find the ones that help. This forum is a great resource but the best way to figure it out is to slowly chip away at it by trying medications to rule out causes until you find something that works.
The prescription is written for 2x or 3x daily. I took it twice daily for most of summer 2017, but after a few months decided 3x daily was slightly better. The improvement between 2x and 3x daily is very minor for me. At 3x daily I can easily miss doses and not notice any difference. I take the medication at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with food to avoid heartburn, which is the only side effect I’ve had.
Is it safe? I’ve taken it for over 3 years and not had any safety issues thus far.
