Capsicain cream UK sufferers

Hi,

I’ve been reading that capsicain cream can help relieve symptoms. In the UK capsicain cream needs to be prescribed by a Dr. I was wondering if any UK sufferer had been prescribed this and if it helped.

Many thanks

Stephen

I am not from the U.K., but, I have had this prescribed for me. Unfortunately, this did not help me. Good luck, I hope you find relief

Hello Stephen,

I’m in Australia and I’ve been using a 0.75% capsaicin cream with some success for several years. A prescription is not needed for it here. Possibly the cream you are referring to is stronger.

I apply it sparingly to the soles of my feet 3-4 times a day for about 6 weeks using a disposable plastic glove, and then I have about 4-5 months of greatly reduced symptoms. I try not to apply it shortly before bedtime because I do feel more burning in the weeks I’m treating my feet. I stick with it though to get those months of relief. As far as I’m concerned it is definitely worth it.

I’d give it a try if I were you. Good luck with it!
Leigh

I’d suggest giving it a try

Thanks for the replies. I wanted to try something more natural rather then drugs that may not help & give bad side effects. I also have read magnesium supplements may help. I have an appointment with my GP to discuss these.

Magnesium capsules are hard to get benefit out of because of the degredation during digestion. You can get magnesium cream at drugstores and can rub a quarter size drop into fatty tissue (tummy or bottom) up to 10 times a day. It is well absorbed that way.
best to you!!
