Doctors who treat EM

Hello, I live in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel ja Hill area of North Carolina. Does anyone know of Doctors in this area who does not look at you like you have two horns, when you mention EM? Feeling desperate!!

Hello Roach131.
I don’t know of one myself but have you checked out the doctors database under members services? Id you don’t see one there you can try doing a search in the search box with key words doctor and your area. I hope someone can recommend one or you ate able to find it here through search.
Oh! I love your description of they way you get looked at! That pretty much sums it up.

Hi, I also live in the Raleigh area. I have just found a great Neurologist

who is very familiar with EM. I saw him for the first time a few weeks ago.

He is at UNC Chappel Hill. He surprised me when I walked into the room

and mentioned my dx, he immediately knew what it was and turned

down the heat in the room. He is from the Mayo clinic in Rochester.

I asked him if it was ok to add his name to the list, he said it was.

(Sorry I didn't do it sooner). He is very busy, but worth seeing if you

have EM. He is knowledgeable and very nice. He will want pictures

of a flare, because he knows you can look totally normal one minute

then the next have a flare. You will need a referral from your primary

doctor to get into the Neurology dept at UNC Chappel Hill. His name is

Chafic Karam. I also see a primary care doctor in Raleigh near North Hills

area. The Boylan Clinic, even though they are not very knowledgeable

about EM, they have been very good working with me and getting me the

referrals I need. At least they won't give you that blank look. I see Dr. Newell

or his PA at Boylan. I hope this helps. I would love to talk with you more.

Im in the Wake Forest area. Good luck Kristi

Does this doctor treat EM

Mod team have left you Dr details on your page. Let us know if you need anymore help :)

Yes! Dr. Joseph Jorrizzo of Wake Forest Baptist. 336-■■■■■■■■. It will probably take you three months to get in, but it’s worth it. He is the first doctor who picked up my feet and after a quick look explained exactly what he was seeing.

Alina, I see exactly one doctor in that doctor database, and he is in Alberta, Canada. Am I in the wrong place? I have never been able to find a list of doctors under member services in the doctor database.

Hey Kristi, I was just wondering how things are going with the neurologist. Do you have any fax numbers for Him. I have an appointment with my medical doctor and am hoping she will give me a referral! Thanks…Sharon
