Hi, I was just thinking I could share my experience with topical applied alcohol. I always found it very helpful and you don't need to use too cold water or ice to get relief. Just apply a little bit of alcohol (more % more relief, but I wouldn't go above 80%, I always used 40% vodka) on the flared skin and as the alcohol vaporize very fast, the skin easily cools down without using ice or too cold water as I said before. Alcohol causes just a little dryness, much better than getting a frostbite. Hope this was at least a lil helpful. Stay strong, Liz. (sorry for my english, not native speaker)
