I have a new problem with my EM and thought I'd ask if anyone else has a similar situation. This is besides my regular flares.
For 2-3 weeks on the bottom of my left foot and my 3rd toe I have a hard ball, feels like I am walking on a marble. It's difficult to see or feel unless I walk on my foot, then it's almost unbearable.
Has anybody had this or anything similar to this problem?
That sounds like a Morton's neuroma, which is a thickening of the tissue surrounding a nerve in your foot. The phrase "it feels like I'm walking on a marble" is classic! It's not related to EM, so that's good...? (I think so!) I'd go to your doctor for suggestions on how to treat/relieve the symptoms.
Thank you for this info and your imput. Tomorrow is my Dr. Appt. and I will surely bring it up. I have googled and it does appear to be the same but I am sure there is test to run. :) As I figured it was not related to EM but it's good to know. I think it could be good because they can do something with this Morton Neuroma. I may not like it but we will see. Thanks again.

Thanks for asking. it has not been resolved. Because my Dr. told me to do that I'd have to have surgery and it'd a very uncomfortable and painful situation with the EM. Let me know ow about yours.

Cathy's,
Did you get the neuroma resolved? My neuroma was soon followed by the neuropathy. There might be a connection.
The neuroma is gone, but the neuropathy is still present. The neuroma was painful for a couple months than decreased. Inflammation was still there however for another 7 more months. I took a low level laser to it a couple times a week for 3 weeks and then one day soon after I noticed it was completely gone. A lot of physical therapists will have this laser. I just happened to have one in my possession as I sell dental lasers. About a year after the initial pain, I could feel the inflammation come back as well as affect both heels, similar to what happened initially. It thankfully only lasted a few days. I was very worried I was in for another 2-3 months of being debilitated. I have no doubt the neuroma and heel pain are directly related to my neuropathy which I believe is caused by inflammation throughout the body. I just don’t know the cause. Not ready to say its EM. What’s interesting is that both the initial pain and the recurrence happened 2nd week of January, with the initial in 2014 and the recurrence in 2015. I’m hoping its dietary related to junk I ate during the holidays. Im now gluten free and reduced sugars by 90%. One month under my belt and no change yet. Give the laser a try first. Surgery was also my option but the MRI did not show inflammation consistent with Morton’s neuroma.
Thank you for the input on this matter. I will ask about it again when I go. But I will hold off on surgery as long as possible. In fact I firmly believe as my Dr. does also it will only be worse.
