Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with or suggestions of doctors familiar with EM near Orange County CA. I’m willing to drive a little ways for a knowledgable doc. I already have a rheumatologist because I have Lupus so any other field would be great whether it’s neurology or dermatology. Any suggestions, advice, or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi there Adeb1990, in case no-one from SoCal is checking in regularly at the moment to answer your question directly, you could always go to the Members tab and used the advanced search facility to find members in this area.
If you put 'CA' in the city/state box and 'search' this will bring up all the members in California who you can look through to see who might be in/around Orange County/LA. You can click on their name to view their profile and most recent posts here and send a friend request to them.
It can feel a bit of a convoluted way to get information but sometimes this works really well on our communities to get area specific information .... as well as potentially making a new friend :)
I live not too far from you ... in Ventura county. I was diagnosed by my rheumatologist, who sent me to a hematologist who confirmed the diagnosis. She also sent me to a neurologist and dermatologist for other matters, but they were no help with my em. None of my doctors are familiar with treating em. I have found my best information on this site. I'm just weighing in on your conversation to let you know that as someone living in the So Cal area, I don't have any doctors that I would recommend for em. BTW, the best help that I'm getting is from my Naturopath. She found that I have Hashimoto's and is treating me for that. As my thyroid gets balanced, my em is not nearly as intense. And seriously, I read a ton of research from this site (which is so wonderfully organized), and have lessened my outbreaks by following the tips that I have read here. Good luck to you. If you do find a good em doc in the So Cal area, let us all know!
Thank you laughalittle I have started looking through this site and other sites but it can get a little overwhelming at times. I will keep at it though and it is always encouraging to hear that there are things to help the EM!
And Thank You Jules I never would have thought of that but I will definitely give it a try!
Hi Adeb1990,
I am about 45 minutes from LA, I have seen over 20 "specialists" and have not found anyone who has helped at all.
Which is why I am on the wait list to see Dr, Davis at Mayo. They tell me I probably won't get an appt, until the end of the year.
Just knowing I will be seen by him is some mental relief.
