Irregular sleep

Hello, I have had EM my whole life. But in the past 10 years it has gotten much worse. I go to a local pain clinic that has my pain pretty well controlled. In the past 3 years I have had to give up my job and my sleep patterns have gone from sleeping through the night like a normal person to staying up all night and sleeping all day. This is due to flares and meds.
My question is does anyone have any ideas to turn this around and get my normal sleep pattern back? Thank you , Cindy G.

Hi Cindy, the fact that I'm usually hotter in the night than the day makes for very disrupted sleep. Usually, but not always, i start to cool down around 5 am ish. If I can sleep those last two hours from 5 am to 7am, it's great because that's when I get my deepest sleep. I tried sleeping in the day for a few hours but it makes me hotter upon waking than I would be if I stayed awake.

Interesting question Cgerula. I have often considered switching myself to day sleeping because my nights are so much worse and it is difficult to get any sleep. I wonder if the sleeping itself causes it or the time of day causes it. I know our bodies change when it is preparing for rest and those changes could be the cause for getting worse at night. I wonder if you slept during the day long enough would those same changes just start happening in the day and days would be worse??? I don't know . I wish I could be of more help.
