I sent this reply to mads but thought some might be interested. Have waited to post about this med change to see if it continued to help. A couple of months ago my doctor put me on Carbamazepine (Tegretol) ER 100 mg twice a day. (It's an anti-seizure med that helps some EM patients.) Helped some, but not enough. He added Duloxetine (Cymbalta), 30 mg. per day. Wow, no foot pain, but intense appetite. I started taking the Cymbalta every other day and appetite back to normal but still no foot pain. I also now have a handicapped placard which shortens the hot parking lot journey (Texas triple digit days) when time to buy groceries. Wouldn't have thought it would make such a difference. My face still gets red when I get in temps around mid 80s, but being able to walk again has been wonderful. (For some reason I've never had a problem with my hands.) One med or combination of meds doesn't work for everyone so if anyone has questions feel free to ask. Also found some tips on how certain foods react with Cymbalta that was very interesting if anyone is interested.
Good Luck and God Bless
