Live in Northern CA, suffer from EM. Considering putting in a pool for my feet/non weight bearing/cool. What tips do you have?
I was a high level athlete and I started to develop EM over a year ago, this prevented me from running and going to the gym, but swimming has been a life saver. I can do long, hard sessions in the pool without worries of flaring up, it has allowed me to stay fit and healthy. Sometimes, I do slightly flare after the pool, but it’s really not much. For anyone with EM struggling with exercise, I would 100% recommend swimming/water aerobics etc.
I completely agree! I’m a retired tri-athlete. Retired, because of health issues, unfortunately. Swimming is my salvation. I go early in the morning, when it’s still cool, and the sun hasn’t become intense, yet. The water itself is cooling, and the exercise helps with stress reduction. I also feel more myself in the water. The weightlessness of it is very freeing. I would love to have a pool in our backyard, but we have a lovely one in our neighborhood that will suit me just fine.
