Does excercise, Physical Therapy, or massage help?

For the last couple of months, I have been exercising my feet, legs, arms, etc. in a swimming pool and by forcing myself to walk a little despite increased pain. So far, no good progress; it is spreading up my leg to the knee. Wondering if others have tried physical exercise, and what their results were.

for me, it is better for the pain with exercice, but not for the redness.
