Have you heard the line, “If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting more of what you’ve always gotten?”It might be true, so mod team are going to try something different in 2015. Here are 10 good intentions , ready for the New Year.Ten different pieces of advice intended to help reduce chronic pain. Whilst not specifically talking about EM its certainly food for thought, and some suggestions may even make an EM'er's life easier (here is hoping :)).
Good intentions are part of a New Year. Please take a few moments to share your advice tips - what have you got to lose? We will be producing a fact sheet with your valuable information.
Thanks Guys.
What advice do you have intended to help fellow community members better manage EM symptoms , or even reduce EM /co existing pain?
This sounds like a very good idea and could be such a valuable resource for new members (and old members, too).
I have seen a lot of good advice given since over the months I've been part of the this group. Will you be taking some of these tidbits and summarizing them, too? It seems a shame to lose this feedback.
Yes, we will be consolidating all the great tidbits community members have shared past and present. Many members have said that want to try out new things - new intentions for 2015. But they but dont know what else they can or could do ,or where to start. I , for one, will be trying out that EFT you mentioned :). It something I have not tried 'tapping' but your vote of confidence tells me its a must on my 'intentions' list.
One of my intentions is assisted exercise. Being totally house/bedbound is truly affecting my muscles, stamina etc... Found a lovely disability therapist who is going to come to my home and help me once week( reasonable cost too).
Another intention is my being more accepting of ALL disability equipment. I have fiercely fought against certain aids and refused to even discuss. Maybe I thought it meant I would eventually be able to cope without them. I have much equipment such as walkers, bed frame, sticks, shower, grippers , chillows, ice flipflops, dragon PC software ..... but ' raised toilet seat' ....... NO! . Swallowed my false pride and it arrives next week ;).
More to contribute later.
Many thanks for raising this point as it wasnt too clear in our promotion.
God bless
BTW: If any members feel up to helping us on this project , Alina, Nel and I would be most grateful. Please contact either one of us .

Hi Mads.
Thanks for the clarification. Right now I don't think I can take on much more (I coordinate a national program that supports resilience in young children and families (www.reachinginreachingout.com) and that keeps me quite busy. However, if I do have a block of time I'll contact you and see what bit I can do to help. I sometimes wonder whether some members who have kids might find our free online resources to be helpful--for example we have a free e-newsletter that comes out 4 times/year. Just a thought.
Your e resource link might be great for our informational toolbox, which is under construction. I just eyeballed it - looks great stuff and all free!.
I shall put the link. As you probably know we started a parents of children with EM last year. This type of material could prove invaluable to both parents, caregivers trying to help their little ones try to cope with this wicked syndrome. Thank you so much for our raising awareness of such materials.
Thank you too for offer of help if you get time. Alina, Nel and i struggle with our health and its hard to produce all the materials/resources we would like to. Thats why we tell everyone to ask us interim ;)
God bless
Ice flip flops are these flips with inserts for ice packs.

Thank you so much for these tips. I will check them out. I am very pleased that you visited our websites and think that they might be useful for members with children. Our goal is to spread these resources as far and wide as possible. More than 6000 service providers and parents have attended our RIRO resiliency skills training programs we have created for nonprofit organizations to use. RIRO's skills keep me going when pain and discomfort get really heavy.

Just a question re the ice flip flops. Can one walk in them at all? And how high is the raised arch? I have a tumor under my right arch and wear totally flat shoes,
Aesthetically not Jimmy Choos, but yes you can walk in them. They are flat, solid like a sandal/flip flop the inserts are chilled ice packs that slip in . Better than icing. Even if you use just at home.
The ice socks are good too.
You are so welcome. Thank you for sharing information with us :-)
